Privacy policy

This is an English translation for your convenience. The Spanish version (Política de privacidad) is the legally binding one.
This policy explains how we process the personal data you give us when you join the beta waiting list for Alpineward: Ski Resort Simulator at alpineward.com, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 on Data Protection (LOPDGDD) and Spanish Law 34/2002 (LSSI-CE).

We do not ask for your name or payment details, we do not build profiles with automated decisions, and we do not buy or cross-reference data with third parties.
3. Why we use it and on what legal basis
- To manage your place on the waiting list and send you the email to confirm the address is yours (double opt-in). Basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
- To write to you about the closed beta, the Steam launch and important news about the game. Basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Art. 21 LSSI-CE). Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
- To understand, in aggregate, which countries, languages and campaigns sign-ups come from, to organise the beta and its languages. Basis: your consent.
- To protect the form against automated sign-ups and abuse (rate limiting using the IP fingerprint). Basis: legitimate interest in the security of the service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
You can withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting anything done before you withdraw it.
4. How long we keep it
- While you remain on the list and, at most, until 12 months after the game's version 1.0 launch, unless you unsubscribe earlier.
- Sign-ups that are never confirmed are deleted 60 days after the confirmation email is sent.
- If you unsubscribe, we keep only your email address, blocked, with the date you unsubscribed so that we never write to you again and can prove it. If you ask for erasure, we delete everything.
5. Who else has access
We do not share your data with anyone unless required by law. To provide the service we use providers acting as data processors under a contract compliant with Art. 28 GDPR:

- Email delivery: Brevo (Sendinblue SAS), France (European Union).
If any of them processed data outside the European Economic Area, they would do so with GDPR safeguards (an adequacy decision or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses).
6. Your rights
You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction of processing and portability, and withdraw your consent:
- using the “Unsubscribe” link in any of our emails, or
- by writing to [EMAIL DE CONTACTO] from the signed-up address, stating which right you want to exercise.
We will reply within one month. If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es) or your local supervisory authority.
7. Minimum age
The waiting list is for people aged 14 or over. If you are younger, ask a parent or guardian to sign up for you.
8. Security
The data is stored on our own server with an encrypted connection (HTTPS), access to the admin panel restricted by a strong password with lockout after failed attempts, and regular backups. The IP address is never stored in clear.
9. Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will publish it here with the new date and, if it affects how we use your data, we will let you know by email.
